The whole idea of a website is to reach people, and interest them. If you could have a script that found where the visitor was from you can really attract some interest. For example you could put a start page saying “Hi visitor from town XYZ” or tailor searches or content to that persons specific area.
There are already scripts allowing you to see the software the visitor is using but with this clever script you can easily impress your visitors, who will then be more likely to stay on your site and pass it on to friends.
